Dear Members of the Cornell Community,
We are honored to serve as the co-chairs of the Cornell United Way Campaign for 2018-19 and hope that you’ll join us in supporting our community.
The impact of Cornell’s contributions to the United Way of Tompkins County and to the essential programs and services provided by the many agencies is considerable – nearly 40% of the overall support that families in Tompkins and surrounding counties receive comes directly from you and our entire Cornell family. Your generous gift helps with serious, life-impacting challenges within our community including hunger, homelessness, and mental illness. One in five of our friends, families, and neighbors receive vital support from United Way funded programs and services.
It is crucial for all to understand that 100% of gifts benefit United Way programs and agencies. This is possible because Corporate Cornerstone Partners cover the administrative and operating costs of the United Way.
We’re excited to share with you some details related to our campaign for this fall:
- Cornell’s United Way campaign will run from now through the end of December to emphasize the urgency of the needs of those who benefit from United Way support.
- Our esteemed President Martha Pollack is a strong supporter of United Way and has helped us to establish the Cornell President’s Leadership Association – we welcome you to join us through a gift of $1000 or more.
Below you will find a link to your personalized account with a temporary password. If you’ve given before, you will see your giving history. If you decide to use the online giving system, please create a new password once you log on, and please do not use your NetID password. Although we won’t be mailing you a pledge card this year, you can still choose to give by downloading one from the Give page on this website or emailing us. Payroll deduction begins in January 2019 and it’s a convenient way to spread payment throughout the year.
Thank you for considering a gift to the United Way. Look for more campaign news soon – we’ll be connecting regularly with our Cornell United Way e-newsletter.
